Open Burning Being Allowed In Some Parts Of Pinal County

September 17th, 2012

Open burning permits are once again being issued for portions of Pinal County by Pinal County Air Quality following the ban that had been in place since late April to reduce the chance of wildfires. The rains and higher humidity levels have greatly lowered the risk of fire in several locations.

The ban on open burning remains in effect in areas where the local fire department deems open fires as still being a high concern. Some of these fire departments include the Oracle and Dudleyville Fire Districts.

The portion of north central Pinal County (Area A) that includes Apache Junction, Queen Creek, Gold Canyon and San Tan Valley has stricter air quality regulations that prohibit open burning until Oct. 1st.

Pinal County Air Quality has also resumed satellite office hours at their Casa Grande County Complex located at 820 E. Cottonwood Lane, Building A, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 am to noon.

For further information about open burning or how to get an application for a burn permit, visit the Air Quality Division’s website or call the Pinal County Air Quality Division at 520-866-6929.
