San Carlos Apache Tribe Moving Forward With Plan To Build Second Casino

February 6th, 2013

The San Carlos Apache Tribe has been interested in opening a second gaming site for a few years & will now be able to following the approval given by the San Carlos Apache Tribal Council. The site is near the Aravaipa area, east of Highway 77 at Milepost 127 between Mammoth and Dudleyville within the southwestern boundary of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, where they had been hoping to do so for some time. A temporary facility with 400 slot machines, 10 to 12 table games, along with a small lounge and restaurant is expected to open by mid-2014. The plan calls for a full service resort with a hotel and a convention area.

They anticipate the new facility will create over 400 permanent jobs.

A series of community meetings will be held prior to the start of the construction of the facility.

According to the release; “Under the 2003 State Gaming Compact, the San Carlos Apache Tribe is allocated two class III gaming facilities. The San Carlos Apache Tribe, in exercising its inherent sovereign rights, has selected the Dudleyville site as the second Class three gaming facility.”
