Registration for the next Arizona Hunter Education Safety Course begins July 19th. The 3 day class is Aug. 9th, through Aug. 11th. The class portion in Globe-Miami is from 8 am to 4 pm on Aug. 9th and Aug. 10th, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 844 Sullivan St. in Miami. The Range Day takes place starting at 8 am on Aug. 11th, at the Globe-Miami Gun Club at 2675 Bixby Rd. Students must attend all three days. Students will need to bring a sack lunch for each day of classes at the church. The class size is limited to the first 30 students, so if you would like to be part of the class, you will need to register in advance. Registration may be done online. If you don’t have internet access please call John at 602-478-5201. Students must have a hunter ID number from AZ Game & Fish Dept. in order to register. You can get one by calling 602-942-3000, weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm. There is a $5 fee for the course. A parent must complete the registration if the student is younger than 18 years of age and sign a waiver for the Range Day. Students must be at least 9 years old in order to take the course. If a student hasn’t reached their 10th birthday, but have successfully completed a course, their certification will become valid on their 10th birthday. The classes are taught by volunteer instructors certified by the Arizona Game & Fish Department.
