The Mesa Public Library is giving people a chance to take care of their overdue fines while helping others at the same time. Here’s the deal, “Bring in nonperishable food items to your favorite Mesa Public Library branch and for each item you bring, $1 of overdue fines will be waived. If you bring in three cans of food, $3 will be waived.” The items are being collected for the United Food Bank from April 10th, through April 29th. Also, “The Library requests that you do not donate food in glass containers. People are also encouraged to donate food even if they don’t have library fines.” The library branches accepting food are: Main Library (64 E. First St.), Dobson Ranch Library (2425 S. Dobson Rd.), Red Mountain Library (635 N. Power Rd.), & Mesa Express Library (2055 S. Power Rd., Suite 1031).
