The Globe-Miami Wad Squad “is the local Scholastic Clay Target Program team. This program is sponsored by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.” They “shoot two different clay target disciplines, American Trap and Sporting Clays. It is a scholastic program, so the shooters involved have to be registered in school, and can not be failing any of their classes. Grades are checked periodically to make sure they are passing. Practice is held at the Globe-Miami Gun Club every other Saturday between October and April. A membership to the club is not required. Additionally, “Each shooter must attend at least 6 practices to be eligible to compete at the Commissioners Cup Shoots at the end of the season. 1 round of trap is (25)targets, 1 round of Sporting Clays is (25) targets. Practice will begin October 13th, and will continue every other weekend after that. Shotguns and ammunition are provided as part of the program, so you don’t need to own a shotgun to participate. For information contact David Polkabla 928-961-3484 Daniel Mikeworth 928-701-7419 or Jim Grider 928-701-1749.” This is for ages 10 to 18 years of age.
