On May 23rd, you can learn how to correctly identify & report “significant weather phenomena” while helping the public. You’ll also learn about how thunderstorms work, visually estimating wind speeds, identifying cloud features that are typically associated with tornadoes and microbursts, & how those reports are used by the National Weather Service (NWS). A Standard/Basic Class is from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Town of Maricopa Police Substation Training Room at 17985 North Greyhorn Drive in Maricopa. If you would like to take this class, you will need to register online.
