Tonto National Forest Fuel Reduction & Maintenance Project

The Tonto National Forest is working “a large, landscape-scale mechanical vegetative fuels reduction and maintenance project” that is set to take course over an estimated five months. The project began today, Jan. 5th, “in the Ellison Creek Summer Homes and La Cienega Ranch areas.” Over 5,200 acres are affected by this project. Other locations involved are in Ellison Creek Estates, Bonita Creek Estates, Whispering Pines, Washington Park, Rim Trail, Strawberry, Zane Grey cabin, Shadow Rim Girl Scout Ranch, Round Valley, the Randall Place, Round Valley, Arrowhead Estates, & Pine.
