A road improvement project to chipseal, then surface seal of five areas in the Globe area is scheduled from May 12th, until May 15th. Gila County Public Works notes, “To ensure the success of this project, Gila County is requesting that all residents who live in the following areas scheduled for this year’s chipseal to not have anything parked within any right-of-way. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicles, boats and trailers from 6 am to 5 pm for the duration of this project. This is to ensure that we can cover 100% of the paved area and avoid damaging anything parked to close to the construction site.” They add, “There will not be any road closures, but drivers should expect one-way traffic and/or temporary rerouting, small delays, flaggers and traffic control.” The affected areas are: Wheatfields Road, Hix Drive, Hoopes Drive, Quail Ridge, & Bixby Road.
