The need to help Mesa’s most vulnerable citizens continues & ABC: A Better Community is encouraging more people to donate and makes addressing that need very easy.
ABC: A Better Community helps provide emergency food boxes, home delivered meals for seniors, shelter services to families and children and many other basic needs and services. Non-profit agencies receiving funding from ABC include United Food Bank, MARC Center of Mesa, A New Leaf, East Valley Senior Services and Mesa Boys & Girls Club.
An online system makes it easy for Mesa residents to donate money with their monthly utility bill. To meet the growing need in the community, residents are now being asked to contribute an additional five dollars each month. You can sign up in the ABC section of mesaaz.gov and click on the “adding $5 each month” and “My Utility Account” pages. You can add a five dollar contribution, specify a different amount, round up the dollar on your utility bill or contribute a one-time amount.
City of Mesa utility customers using SurePay can call City of Mesa Customer Service at (480) 644-2221 to request that the additional five dollars be added automatically each month. If you are not a utility customer, you can still donate. Just send a check to City of Mesa and add “ABC: A Better Community” to the memo area. Mail the check to City of Mesa Customer Service, P.O. Box 1466, Mesa, AZ 85211-1466. All donations to the ABC program are tax deductible.
