“A Message from Mayor Al Gameros
To our residents and our community. As you are all aware of, tonight our community has experienced an unthinkable, devastating flood event.
Our primary objective tonight is search and rescue due to numerous vehicles that have been swept into the wash. Currently our local swift water teams are in the process of searching all the washes. We have also dispatched additional Search and Rescue teams from both Maricopa and Pinal County and they are currently in route. DPS helicopter is also assisting.
At the same time we have crews working to stabilize the highway in order to get it back open again. There are numerous vehicles and propane tanks throughout the highway that need to be secured and cleared before the highway can be open.
I want to reassure our community that while there may not be frequent updates at this moment, it is because the City of Globe is in an active emergency mode.
I will be declaring a State of Emergency for the City of Globe to ensure we can continue to mobilize resources and support recovery efforts.
We know residents and businesses are anxious, especially with more rain on the way. Official updates will be shared through the City of Globe App, Facebook, and the City’s website, and we encourage everyone to sign up for app notifications.”
