UPDATE, 9-2-25: A message sent late last Friday provided further details. On Sept. 2nd, from 5 am to 5 pm, “East- and westbound US 60 reduced to one travel lane in each direction between Santee Street and High Street.” On Sept. 3rd, from 5 am to 5 pm, “East- and westbound US 60 reduced to one travel lane in each direction between Monroe Street and US 70 (milepost 252)” & “Eastbound curb lane restrictions on US 60 from Santee Street to High Street.” On Sept. 4th, from 5 am to 5 pm, “East- and westbound curb lane restrictions on US 60 between Oak Street and US 70 (milepost 252).” The speed in the work zone is 25 mph. Also, “Motorists and businesses should also plan for temporary restrictions to local roads as crews make repairs. Drivers can expect: Silver Street closed at US 60 through mid-September. Drivers can use posted detour routes to access US 60.”

According to the Arizona Dept. of Transportation they, “will be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project on east- and westbound US 60 between Santee Street (milepost 250) and US 70 (milepost 252) tentatively scheduled to begin in late August 2025. Crews will begin with sidewalk and curb improvements and will work Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pedestrians should anticipate sidewalk restrictions in the work zone and motorists should anticipate intermittent daytime lane restrictions and speed reductions. Milling and paving operations are anticipated to begin mid-October 2025. During this work, drivers should plan for nighttime lane restrictions and speed reductions from 8 p.m. Sunday night through 6 a.m. Friday morning. There will also be temporary closures to driveways and street intersections during milling and paving. Drivers should expect delays and allow for extra time when traveling through the area.”
