Gila Co. Division of Emergency Mangementjust issued the following:
“Residents of Globe, Miami, Wheatfields, Central-Heights, Claypool, and surrounding areas: please be advised that rescue operations are currently under way. Residents in a safe location are asked to shelter in place as flooding has spread debris including potentially Hazardous Materials.
Residents are asked to avoid roadways and outdoor areas for the safety of the Public and First Responders.
A Shelter Location is currently being stood up at Lee Kornegy Intermediate School (4635 Railroad Ave, Miami, AZ 85539)
Additional Shelter Location(s) are in the process of being stood up and information will be shared when available.”
