New weight restrictions have been put into effect for the Pinto Creek Bridge & Rye Creek Bridge after it was determined they did “not meet loading requirements for highway legal loads.” There are new signs at each bridge with the corrected limits. A vehicle driven over either bridge that is over the limit is in violation and prohibited.
The Rye Creek Bridge is located on the Tonto Basin Ranger District on Forest Road (FR) 184 (Rye Creek Road) and now has load limits of: 3 rating (3 tons), 3S rating (3 tons), & 3-3 rating (4 tons).
The Pinto Creek Bridge is located on at FR 287-A (Miles Ranch Road) on the Globe Ranger with these new load limits: 3 rating (10 tons), 3S rating (16 tons), & 3-3 rating (17 tons).
