Residents of Gila County can make use of a “self-service sandbag station” during the monsoon season. Gila County is offering this station during monsoon season. They have sand and sandbags, but you will need to bring a shovel if you intend on utilizing this service. The County asks, “Community members who are able and willing are also encouraged to “pay it forward” by filling a few extra sandbags and leaving them at the station.” This would be a great help “for those who may need assistance and cannot fill their own.” The “self-service sandbag station” is located on the way to the landfill across from Community Bridges Rehabilitation Center, 5734 Hope Ln. in Globe.
