UPDATE, 7/1/26: Haystack Ranch is no longer under “Set” mode. Containment is now 76%. Crews finished the east side’s contingency lines. The size of this lightning-caused fire saw no additional growth. Part of today’s plan is to patrol and hit hotspots. They are also planning to, “repair areas such as drop points and helispots that were used for air operations.”

UPDATE, 6/30/26: Haystack Ranch is the only one still under “Set” mode. Containment is up to 68%. The fire has burned about 11,939 acres. They have made significant progress while facing lower humidity and high winds. The crews have been able to keep the fire within the perimeter through various tactics. One goal for today is to, “complete chipping along FSR 303A and continue masticating along FSR 584A.” Additionally, “Crews will also rehabilitate drop points and complete additional suppression repair where conditions allow.”

UPDATE, 6/26/26: The three ranches are still in “Set” mode. The crews worked on reinforcing containment lines, while conducting firing operations inside those lines. The northeast side is a focus for extra lines to better contain the fire. The fire has potential be more active due to winds expected in the area. The containment increased to 37%, with approx. 11,852 acres burned.

UPDATE, 6/24/26: M-K Ranch is now under “Set” mode, as well. The following Forest Service Roads are currently closed: 219, 303, & 584. Crews are working to have a firm containment line while heavily attacking the fire and hitting hot spots. The fire grew to approx. 9,500+ acres with the containment at 17%.

Griffin Ranch & Haystack Ranch are under “Set” mode. The Sycamore Fire has burned an estimated 9,036 acres since it began on June 15th. It’s approx. 8% contained. The fire is in the Salt River Canyon Wilderness Area north of Globe. The crews are working to utilize Forest Service Roads as containment lines as part of their suppression strategy.
